these are from Woodland and Germany compete in a square rather plain folk metal progressive elaboration and which of the many ideas its focal point. Forget then the scores of extra catchy or troll metal band Korpiklaani Finntroll because with "Dreamality" we are on very different coordinates. The music is dense and makes use of three different types of vocals: male growls, clean male and female clean, used in different situations. The rhythmic variations or themes are present almost everywhere, as well as choirs or vocal duets (which reminded me of something the Beholder), making the songs but not enough processed directly, as the structures are never too convoluted.
Among the different influences we have re-proposed the acceleration of die power of "Nachtgesänge, aggression and typical Swedish melodic death of "Warriors", not to mention the desire to epic choruses viking / epic. The logical consequence of this stylistic variety is the mood of the piece that goes from the melancholy of "Abendsonne" until the aggression of the opener through intermediate shades.
inaccuracies sprouting here and there holding back the hard work as the battery chaotic when it comes to raising the engine speed, or choices that softened voice too often the atmosphere created by the female vocals. The biggest limitation of "Dreamality" however is the fact that it has no single hit song, which remains imprinted and push to be replayed.
Ultimately then approach "developed" of Woodland is to be welcomed as something positive, to the desire not to stagnate in rigid stylistic boundaries but work at the level of songwriting is further refined to be able to emerge from anonymity. In this regard, a future second album will tell us more.
