WHYZDOM - From The Brink Of Infinity

Ascendance Records - 2010
Symphonic Metal (great melody, in short)
1 to 10: Good! (7.5)
Article by: Martina d'Errico

It 'pretty rare that I may speak well of a group of symphonic metal, not for my dislike of this kind but often because the band are all similar and not particularly interesting. The Whyzdom though, from France, I was positively surprised, the singer's voice is versatile and lends itself to the less "lyric" song, so dissolving the pomposity that this kind can easily run.
Among the songs that deserve more note highlights "The Witness" and "The Power And The Glory," while the band does not have much familiarity with the ballads, as can be seen from "Freedom" which is far too saccharine and overly long.
Overall, however, "From The Brink Of Infinity" remains valid more than one disk, which eventually makes the metal symphonic accessible to non-super-fans.
