There are groups that, for better or for worse, is the guarantees. Sick Of It All are one of these groups. The band from New York is perhaps the flagship show along with the steel city hardcore Agnostic Front, and the new "Based On A True Story" does not confirm that the entire thickness.

One could argue for hours on the way to make an album that sounds at hand, it could have been done a decade or two ago. Okay, the immobility of soy is not in question, but if some groups have been given the task of evolving a kind, others are given to keep it anchored to its roots and that is what our they do best. This album is everything you expect from a disc of HC from New York, a direct assault, violent, no frills. The riffs are simple, minimal, lots of muscles and the brain just enough. Plenty of sweat but also the smell of asphalt, the gray areas of low heavy smog, the stench of onion hot dog stalls, the shouts of the vulgar Italian neighborhoods, than those of Hispanics as blacks, traffic, car horn, the chatter of taxi drivers and Manhatthan far, far away in the background.
But I digress. Atmosphere in the hard part is cool, straight as a brick you raining on his head from a building under construction and just as heavy, but also capable of a couple of times almost revelers with singalong choruses that recall very nearly the Oi!. How can you expect the rhythms are tight and linear and nonlinear rough guitars, abrasive voice like never before. All things already heard? You bet. The beauty is that you always feel happy and that these old always good to know how to tell.
